At RW4Y, we have an extensive range of external awning blinds for roof windows that you will reduce and control the light in your home. If you’re looking to shade a loft space and reduce heat during the summer months, then our range of manual awning blinds is ideal.
These blinds offer optimal protection to stop your space from overheating during warmer weather. Each one uses a smart fabric that absorbs solar radiation, making these blinds eight times more effective at reducing heat than regular internal blinds.
Unfortunately we cannot produce blinds for non FAKRO windows. We cannot guarantee they will fit because our blinds made to fit within a FAKRO frame. If you do order these knowing they will not fit your window, the item is non-returnable.
Yes we do! A comprehensive range of Venetian, Pleated and Blackout blinds can be found in our window blinds section. A wide range of accessories allows you to make the right choice to complement any interior décor.
You will receive fitting instructions with every product you buy from Fakro. If you have received your order and it does not contain the relevant fitting instructions please do not hesitate to contact us on 01283 554755 or email [email protected] stating your order number.
We also have a wealth of information to help you successfully fit our roof windows, loft ladders or window blinds both here on roofwindows4you.co.uk or on our sister website fakro.co.uk. PTP and PPP roof windows are made from a white multi-chamber PVC finish with galvanised steel profiles within the chamber to strengthen the fixings. As the internal frame is made from PVC there could be a cause of concern as to whether or not blinds are suitable for these windows – well they absolutely are!
The installation process will require screwing the fixings into the white frame to secure the chosen blind.
You can certainly install a Z-Wave blind onto a manually opening window. The components required to make it possible are: a power supply unit and remote control.
Rooms can be protected from overheating with the use of external accessories such as awning blinds or electric external roller shutter which give better protection than internal accessories.
External blinds and manual external roller shutter stop the sun’s rays from reaching the glass reducing the heat flow and help prevent the room from overheating. Internal accessories also offer protection from the heat but to a lesser degree. Their main function is to provide privacy, decorate the space and regulate the amount of light entering the room.
To manage the light levels and heat transmission of your roof window, you may wish to kit it out with a specialist roof window blind that has been designed to work with a non-vertical window. Here at RW4Y, we have a wide range of internal and external blinds for pitched windows, as well as flat roof window blinds, to choose from.
FAKRO roof window blinds are designed and manufactured to fit FAKRO windows. The information on your ID plate (shown below) contains all the information you need to order the correct blind size for your window. In the example below the size of 77/118 means this window requires a 78cm x 118cm blind from the roof window blind range here.
It is not necessary to measure any part of the window before ordering a blind, this measurement is all that’s required.
If your window is a custom size (meaning a custom size blind is required) the measurement will also be on the ID plate. You can discuss this measurement with the RW4Y Digital Team who will be able to provide you with a cost and place the item online for ordering.
For flat roof windows and their blinds, you will need a ZSD Universal Telescopic Control Rod. Please be advised that manual flat roof windows do come with a ZSD Pole.
The AJP venetian blind protects a room against overheating; its slats can be adjusted to customise the amount of light entering your home. This blind is available in a variety of colours, so it can be used to compliment a room and enhance interior design. Privacy can also be achieved without a significant reduction of natural light.
AJP blinds are not included in the example Swatch Book.
The ARP dimming roller blind is primarily used to reduce light entering a room while enhancing the interior design of a home; there are a range of colours and patterns to choose from. Partial protection against the heat of the sun is provided, in addition to protection against UV radiation. Complete privacy is achieved when this blind is closed.
Dimming roller blinds do not offer complete blackout, only partial.
